The Bhogpur Children's Home
The Bhogpur Children's Home

The first ministry described in the presentation is the Bhogpur Children's Home where children of lepers are raised in a loving, Christian setting. Here is the manager with two of the four year olds at the home. Currently there are nearly 700 children from the ages of 4 to 21 living at three homes near DehraDun in India. For information about the home or about child sponsorships, go to www.home4children.com.

Presbyterian Theological Seminary

PTS is located in the city of DehraDun in northern India. The seminary trains pastors and Christian workers from many different ethnic and language groups. Here the students and faculty are standing in front of the main classroom building as they honor their president and his wife who are leaving for 6 months. For more information, go to www.ptsindia.com.

Grace Academy
Grace Academy

Though only in existence since 1990, Grace Academy, also in DehraDun, has a student body now of 700 students. It also has a boarding school for 85 children of Christian workers who are working in small villages throughout India. Living and studying at Grace Academy, the children have an excellent Christian education in a loving, supportive environment. Here the boarding school students are leaving on buses to attend the Sunday evening service at Presbyterian Theological Seminary. For more information or to find out about sponsorships, go to www.graceacademyindia.com.

Members of the Missions and Evangelism Committee  joined with the Hospitality and Fellowship Committee to host an amazing, delicious, and authentic Indian meal. Afterward Bruce Hrivnak shared about three Christian ministries in North India  that he and Lucy visited recently: the Bhogpur Children's Home, Grace Academy, and the Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Fall 09 Hay Ride at Lindborgs
Talent Show, January 31, 2009

There was a carry-in dinner after which about 15 acts performed. Bryan O'Neal was a terrific MC. A highlight was Nelson Schoon's direction of a skit of the parable of the soils, with different folks playing the sower, the seeds, crows, and the sun.  The audience was howling during the performance. Who knew Nelson was like that!! The children and adults did a wonderful job. We even had a comedy act. These photos don't represent all the acts. The photographer apologizes for omissions!

Lake at Good Shepherd Sept. 9-14-08

Due to record-setting rainfall the Chicago-land area experienced flooded basements and blocked roadways. Good Shepherd's retention pond did what it was supposed to do: slowing the run-off from the rain and preventing worse flooding. The retention ponds around town were amazingly full.
