Building and Grounds Committee

The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the general maintenance and appearance of the church building.  The committee works in conjunction with the Deacons.  The committee plans workdays in order to involve everyone from the congregation to maintain the church building and its property.

Christian Education Committee

The Christian Education Committee continues to provide opportunities for God's people to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This is accomplished primarily through the classes offered for all ages through our Sunday School.  Curriculum offered by Great Commission Publications is used for kindergarten through junior high.  The high school, college and career, and adult curriculum are decided upon by the committee and the individuals teaching those classes.  The committee also often sponsors a weekend seminar in the fall.  All members of Good Shepherd are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to grow in their knowledge of the Christian faith and to discuss with other Christians varied aspects of the Christian life.

Hospitality and Fellowship Committee

This committee plans monthly events to encourage the fellowship among its members and to invite friends and neighbors to these activities.  They also plan baby showers and "Welcome to the Family" celebrations.  The committee assembles visitor packets for greeters to give to families and individuals who are visiting our church.  Funerals and special services are also ways in which this committee serves our members and their families.

Missions and Evangelism Committee

The main goals of this committee are to promote and support the cause of missions and evangelism in Good Shepherd so that others may come to saving faith in Christ and the kingdom of our Father will grow locally, nationally, and worldwide.

Website Committee

Internet is growing tremendously every day and having a church website has moved from being a novelty to being a necessity.  A well-maintained website can enhance and strengthen the overall communication plan within a church.  It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when no one is in the church office.  The goal of this committee is to have this website communicate God's truth in multiple ways, via scripture, pictures and the ability to listen to Pastor Rick's sermons.  Not only can people be reached in the community that would not ordinarily visit a church, but this website can also reach people around the world.  The website can also be used to help keep present and past members of this congregation up-to-date with what is happening via newsletters, bulletins, online calendars, and events announcements.  Compared with other media, it is much less expensive because it can replace a lot of printed materials and reduce printing and mailing expenses.  It is the prayer of this committee that those who find this site will learn more about Good Shepherd but more importantly, learn more about Jesus Christ and will come and worship with us.

Worship Committee

The Worship Committee seeks to promote God centered and God honoring worship at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.  As creatures made in the image of God, we are made to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.  The committee's desire is that worship at Good Shepherd should always remain biblically based and focused on the glory and enjoyment of God.  The committee is involved in the evaluation of the church's worship while seeking to enhance future worship.  The committee gives oversight to the children's bible time that takes place during the morning worship service.  The committee also plans special seasonal worship services such as Christmas and Easter.
